FREDERICTON, NB (May 6, 2026) — Porter O’Brien is continuing its national growth with the addition of new team members in Calgary and Fredericton, promotions within its existing team, and continued expansion across its core practice areas.

The firm announced today that Kim Doran has joined Porter O’Brien as a Principal Associate based in Calgary, strengthening the firm’s growing presence in Alberta and Western Canada.

Doran most recently served as an official with Alberta’s Ministry of Treasury Board and Finance. Prior to that, she had a long career in consulting, working with both agencies and industry associations.

“Porter O’Brien has had a strong base of work in Alberta for some time, and Kim’s addition reflects our commitment to investing in markets where we are already active and where we see continued opportunity,” said Jordan O’Brien, Partner. “Kim brings exactly the kind of experience we value: deep knowledge of government, strong sector expertise, and a practical understanding of how to help clients navigate complex environments.”

The firm also announced that Carl Davies has joined the team in Fredericton. Formerly with Global Public Affairs, Davies joins the communications and public relations practice, adding further strength to Porter O’Brien’s home-base team as the firm continues to grow nationally.

“Adding Carl in Fredericton strengthens our home-base team at the same time as we continue to grow nationally,” said Tim Porter, Partner. “Our model has always been built on combining strong local knowledge with broader reach, and these additions reflect that approach.”

Porter O’Brien also announced the promotions of Joni Leger and Vincent Desmarais-Adam.

Leger, based in Fredericton, becomes a Principal Associate in the firm’s management consulting practice. She has served as a Senior Associate since February 2025.

Desmarais-Adam, based in Ottawa, becomes a Principal Associate in the firm’s government affairs practice. He has served as a Senior Associate since June 2025.

The promotions follow several hires earlier this year. In February, Porter O’Brien added Meeral Tashfeen, a recent Columbia University graduate, as an Associate in the government affairs practice in Ottawa, and Eduardo Luchese, a recent MBA graduate from the University of New Brunswick, as an Associate in the management consulting practice in Fredericton. Leo Blyth has also joined the firm as Property and Operations Coordinator, reflecting Porter O’Brien’s continued investment in internal capacity as the firm grows.

Founded in 2019 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Porter O’Brien has grown to more than 25 team members and continues to expand its work across communications and marketing, government affairs, management consulting, and market research.
